This loco was originally purchased by the Trust but is owned privately.
Supplied new to the Iranian oil company for use in Iran (hence the cooling on the cab roof) this locomotive never made it abroad. Instead, it was sent to Scotland where it was used in connection with the shale gas industry. Due to its dangerous surroundings the locomotive was fitted with flame proof exhaust systems and enclosures.
Fitted with a 5 cylinder National diesel engine and a 3 speed SCC gearbox with mechanical clutch.
