Built by The Yorkshire Engine Company, Meadowhall, Sheffield and was delivered to British Railways in November 1961 and allocated to shed 27A (Bank Hall). The YEC works number is 2850 and powered by a Rolls Royce C6NFL engine providing 170HP via a hydraulic torque converter.

In 1970 D2867 was hired to Tunnel Cements, Pen-y-fford, North Wales. D2867 final shed was 6A (Chester) In September 1970 she was withdrawn from BR service and sold to Redland Roadstone Ltd, Mountsorrel, Leicestershire.

At NIRT we have another YEC engine “1382” a Half Janus. She would have been at the YEC factory in Sheffield at around the same time as D2867. So the two are now reunited at NIRT.
