Fowler 4220001
Built 1959
John Fowler 0-4-0DM, fitted with a Leyland EN900 with 4 speed Mechanical gearbox. Weight 29 tons.
Original owner Fisons at Stanford-Le-Hope in Essex who put the loco to work at Avonmouth Docks near Bristol.
The shunter was declared surplus to requirements and was stored in a siding until it was delivered to Hunsbury 12th December 1998 for restoration. Owned for a time by A.E.M Ltd on loan to NIRT. Purchased by the society 20 Years ago.
Named Charles Wake in honour of former NIRT President and driver Charles Wake, who passed away in 2005.

Fowler 4220016
Built 1962
John Fowler 0-4-0. Fitted with a Cummins 6cyl turbo charged engine, connected to a hydraulic torque converter with Wilson reversing final drive.
This special one-off design with a cut-down cab was built for Groby Granite due to height restricted bridge at its first home in Leicestershire. Following disuse moved it to Meldon quarry’s for reclamation of spares for dumper trucks. This never happened and the engine saw some use. Taken into the care of the local heritage association until this disbanded in 2019. Bought by a member and returned to the midlands for restoration.

Hibberd “Hylton” 0-4-0 3967
Built 1961
FC Hibberd 'Planet' chain drive 4w diesel Hydraulic, Weight 16Tons. Original engine Ford 590E, Brockhouse Torque converter.
Originally operated by Wiggins Teape Ltd of Sunderland paper mills. It was later transferred to the paper works at Cardiff in 1973, but when the rail traffic ceased, it was purchased by Track Supplies of Wolverton. Moved to NIRT 3rd December 1983.

Peckett 2130
(Dunlop No.7)
Built 1951
Supplied new in august 1951 to the Co-Opertive wholesale society’s factory in Irlam, Manchester. On the closure of the rail system there in 1967 it was sold to the Dunlop Rubber company and moved to its factory in Erdington, now the fort shopping centre. This appointment only lasted till 1971 and it was again sold to a collector in Hinkley. After a few years of storage the locomotive moved to Shackerstone for preservation in 1974. In 2014 the engine began slow return to service seeing works on all the running gear, boiler and steelwork carried out.
Its sister, 2131, also entered preservation at the Cambrian railway society in Oswestry, and is in the process of a similar rebuild.

Ruston
Built 1946
Ruston 0-4-0 88hp 4VPHL 4 Cylinder Diesel engine, 4 speed mechanical gearbox, built in 1946. Weight 17Tons.
It was ordered in 1946 for the gas light and coke company for use at Southall gas works which closed in 1966 when the loco past into preservation. Originally came to NIRT 7th November 1988.
