Our Railway

The Northamptonshire Ironstone Railway Trust is based within the grounds of The Hunsbury Hill Country Park which is located at Hunsbury Hill, Southwest of Northampton. The trust has a small museum and workshop, which is free to visit.

The railway features a 1.5 mile long Heritage Railway line that runs through the park of which a small section has been approved for public use. The line features many sharp curves and steep gradients which were typical of the Industrial Railway. Rides are available in a variety of vehicles including a converted brake van.

TRACK FUND

We are looking for donations to allow us to extend the current railway track available to the public. Extending the line up to the top end of Hunsbury Hill Country Park will enhance the customers experience of this lovely industrial railway. Please donate if you can - a collection box is in the entrance of our museum shed.
